Workshop info and Logistics:

The Nuclear Science and Security Consortium Fall Workshop and Advisory Board Meeting was held October 1-2, 2018 at Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) in Livermore, California. This was the second meeting of the NSSC External Advisory Board (EAB) in the second performance period of the NSSC (2016-2011). This two-day event featured updates on NSSC programs and accomplishments, student oral presentations and a poster session, individual reports by NSSC Focus Area Leads, and a closed discussion session for the EAB. Two special events were held for NSSC Student and Postdoc attendees: a meet and greet session at SNL with lab personnel and one-on-one meetings with scientists at LLNL.

The workshop brought together students, faculty, national laboratory scientists, and representatives from the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation. The event focused on the NSSC’s research in basic and applied nuclear science supporting the nation’s nuclear security agenda and provided an opportunity to connect students and faculty with scientists from US DOE National Laboratories. Registration is required for all attendees.
