UTEP Receives $1.4 Million to Increase Focus on Nuclear Engineering

The University of Texas at El Paso, an NSSC MSI Research Institution, was awarded a $1.4 million grant to establish new courses in nuclear engineering and to conduct research on next-generation materials for nuclear reactors. The four-year grant will fund multiple internships for UTEP students to participate in nuclear energy research at the University of California, Berkeley; the University of California, Davis; or the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).
