Nuclear Forensics is the science – and art – of establishing the provenance of material that could be used, or had been used, in the production or detonation of a nuclear weapon. In real life, the signatures and evidentiary chain will always be weak, subtle and conflicting, but the need for accurate, timely and actionable information for the Administration grows more pressing by the day.
