The NSSC is excited to announce our newest summer program! Cohosted by UC Berkeley and UC Davis, the International Nuclear Data and Analytical Techniques (NDAT) Summer School is a fusion of two previously offered NSSC programs: the Nuclear Analytical Techniques (NAT) Summer School and the Nuclear Data Summer School. The International Nuclear Data and Analytical Techniques Summer School will be held at the University of California, Davis in Davis, CA from June 21-29, 2023.
This summer school consists of lectures and hands-on activities involving nuclear detection, analysis techniques, and aspects of the nuclear data pipeline, from measurement and modeling to compilation and evaluation. Experimental modules will feature:
- Neutron activation analysis
- Pulse shape discrimination with organic scintillators
- FPGA programming
- And more!
Participants will also be given the opportunity to gain firsthand experience at a nuclear reactor at the McClellan Nuclear Research Center and a cyclotron at Crocker Nuclear Laboratory.
Travel and Logistics
There is no registration fee. For NSSC Fellows and Affiliates admitted to the program, travel expenses will be covered by the NSSC via your home institution. For external applicants, you or your institute will be liable for travel expenses. A hotel room block will be available for selected applicants.
