Mariya Zhuravleva (UTK) receives prestigious NSF Career Award

Mariya Zhuravleva, Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee Knoxville and NSSC Faculty member, has received the prestigious NSF Career Award. Dr. Zhuravleva’s award provides support for five years with a focus on “opening the door to emerging functional multicomponent oxides via a novel crystal growth approach.”  Dr. Zhuravleva earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the Moscow State University of Fine Chemical Technology, Russia, and her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Tohoku University, Japan. She has authored or co-authored over 40 technical papers and has contributed to over 100 technical presentations at national and international conferences.
