Congratulations to all the NSSC Fellows and Affiliates graduating this semester, and transiting into exciting careers!

UC Berkeley’s Nuclear Engineering Department held their graduation ceremonies today. Seven Fellows and Affiliates from NSSC graduated from this department:

NSSC Fellows, Faculty, and Lab Collaborators attend the Oslo Workshop on Nuclear Level Density and Gamma Strength

6th Workshop on Nuclear Level Density and Gamma Strength

Oslo, May 8 – 12, 2017

 

The scientific program will include invited talks, selected oral contributions from submitted abstracts, and poster presentations, covering the following topics:

  • Nuclear level density
  • Gamma-ray strength function
  • Phase transitions in mesoscopic systems
  • Applications in astrophysics and reactor physics
  • Other related topics

This years conference was attended by many NSSC Fellows, Faculty, and Lab Collaborators.

NSSC Fellow, Eric Matthews, wins “Christopher Wootton Award”

NSSC Fellow, Eric Matthews was awarded the Christopher Wootton Award by the Nuclear Engineering Department at UC Berkeley. Eric was selected for this honor because of his superior service and leadership to the Department of Nuclear Engineering.
